  Lord Jesus, blessèd Giver, We give of Thine to Thee; Thy gifts are like a river, Full flowing, wide and free. So let our love, outgoing Among the songs of men, Thy strength and joy bestowing, Return Thy gifts again. O give us of Thy Spirit That joys to give Its all; Thy voice—O when we hear it May we obey its call. May we Thy bounties thus As stewards true receive, And gladly, as Thou blessest us, To Thee our firstfruits give. I would not with swift wingèd zeal On the world’s errands go, And labor up the heavenly hill With weary feet and slow. O not for Thee my weak desires, My poorer, baser part!   The earth and the fullness with which it is stored, The world and its dwellers belong to the Lord; For He on the seas its foundations has laid, And firm on the waters its pillars has stayed. What man shall the hill of Jehovah ascend, And who in the place of His presence attend? The man of pure heart and of hands without stain, Who swears not to falsehood nor loves what is vain. That man ever blest of Jehovah shall live, The God of salvation shall righteousness give; For this is the people, yea, this is the race, The Israel true that is seeking His face.

  The earth belongs unto the Lord, And all that it contains; The world that is inhabited, And all that there remains. For the foundations thereof He on the seas did lay, And He hath it establishèd Upon the floods to stay. Who is the man that shall ascend Into the hill of God?   The earth with all her fullness owns Jehovah for her sovereign Lord; The countless myriads of her sons Rose into being at His Word.   This spacious earth is all the Lord’s, And men, and worms, and beasts, and birds: He raised the building on the seas, And gave it for their dwelling place. But there’s a brighter world on high, Thy palace, Lord, above the sky: Who shall ascend that blest abode, And dwell so near his Maker God? He that abhors and fears to sin, Whose heart is pure, whose hands are clean, Him shall the Lord the Savior bless, And clothe his soul with righteousness.
